Downtown Bellingham Hotel: Carpet Cleaning & 476 Chairs
November 6 · Gavin GreenCarpet Cleaning
A conference room is more than a big stretch of carpet. It is where guests meet, chairs get moved, and hundreds of people come and go between events. On this job at a hotel in downtown Bellingham, we cleaned the conference room carpet along with 476 chairs. That is a lot of seats—and a good reminder that commercial cleaning needs to look beyond the floor.
Conference room carpet takes a different kind of traffic
Hotel meeting spaces see repeated foot traffic, rolling equipment, chair legs, and the occasional spilled drink. In Bellingham, wet shoes also bring in moisture and grit from outside. Regular vacuuming is important, but soil can settle into the carpet fibers where a vacuum alone will not remove everything.
Patterns can help a commercial carpet hide everyday wear, but hiding soil and removing it are two different things. Professional carpet cleaning is part of keeping a conference space presentable, whether it is being used for a staff meeting, a training session, or a larger event.
The clip gives you a close-up of the carpet steam cleaning wand moving across the floor. It is a small piece of a larger hotel-cleaning job, and the kind of work that is easy to overlook when a room is full of tables and chairs.
476 chairs deserve attention, too

Cleaning the floor is only one part of caring for a meeting room. Chair upholstery gets used event after event, picking up everyday soil from clothing, hands, and food or drinks. When you multiply that by 476 chairs, it becomes a substantial part of the job.
For hotel teams, looking at the carpet and seating together makes sense. A fresh-looking floor does not do much for the room's overall impression if the seating has been overlooked. The photo gives a better sense of the scale than the number alone: rows of chairs stacked on carts in the event space.
Plan cleaning around the event calendar
If you manage a hotel or conference space, start with the room's schedule. Leave time between cleaning and the next setup, make sure the areas that need attention are accessible, and include the chairs in the conversation rather than treating them as an afterthought.
Our carpet drying time is 4–6 hours. Chair upholstery can dry differently depending on the fabric and conditions, so do not assume every seat will be ready at exactly the same time as the carpet. Discuss the next event and reopening needs when arranging the work.
